Care and Wellness

Wellness and self-care are essential aspects of a child's growth and development. Wellness refers to a broad perspective of a child's physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. It involves a child and families acting to promote good health and prevention of disease. Practice includes exercise, healthy eating, adequate sleep, decreasing technology use, and developing positive relationships.

On the other hand, self-care in children refers to activities that promote good health, such as positively managing one's emotions and developing coping strategies to manage stressors. Self-care practice examples include deep breathing, journaling, mindfulness meditation, and relaxation practices. Self-care is a child's deliberate actions to manage their own care and well-being, such as bathing, brushing their teeth, or exercising regularly.

“By prioritizing wellness, we can make sure that our physical, mental, and emotional health are all taken care of.”
